If you would like to start a new business and meet eligibility requirements, you could be eligible for Self-Employment Services, delivered in partnership with WorkBC and the Employment Program of British Columbia.

You have thought about it long and hard and have ideas in place to begin your own business or purchase an existing business. Now what? How do you start the process?

Come to see us at Work BC Merritt and speak to an Employment Advisor about the possibilities of self-employment.

Our program offers the assistance of experienced Business Advisors who will work with you to meet all of the necessary business requirements and provide advice and access to the resources you will require to start your career as an entrepreneur.

Business Planning Support

Our workshops provide you with the tools needed to develop a thorough business plan, with one-on-one support during the process.

Business Training

Through our extensive network, we connect you with professionals in finance, accounting, sales, marketing, and law to best equip you to run your business successfully.

Business Coaching

During your start up, our team of Business Advisors will coach you along the way providing guidance and support to help you while you launch your business.

Financial Support

Eligible participants may qualify for additional financing and support to help launch their business through our loans program.  Participants may also be eligible for personal financial supports through the duration of the program.
