Executive Chef Position

Company: The Florentine

This position is responsible for the management and supervision of the Food Services Dept.

The key expectation of the Executive Chef is to establish, coordinate and provide an efficient mealtime program, which is well received and enjoyed by our residents. Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervision, training and direction of all kitchen staff;
  • Hands on meal prep and menu planning, including the preparation of therapeutic diets;
  • Purchasing and coordinating inventory related to all meals, beverages, snacks and special events as needed;
  • Implement and maintain departmental budgetary needs, reporting to the Executive Director;
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment is maintained meeting Health Inspection standards; and Related duties as assigned by the Executive Director, which include:
  • performance management & evaluations of all kitchen staff;
  • daily shift scheduling and time card authorization;
  • develop, implement, enforce and evaluate Food Service Dept. Policy and Procedures; and
  • Interviewing potential candidates.

Qualifications:

Red Seal certification or equivalent education and experience;

  • Management and Interpersonal skills;
  • Working knowledge of Canada Food Guide;
  • Food Safe Certificate;
  • Criminal Record free;
  • First Aid preferred; and
  • Valid driver’s license and clear drivers abstract

This is a salaried position
